Hi Folks - not really a Private Lightning upload…A LONG time ago, my friend Ttiim Roy and I spent a fun night recording a song that he wrote.  It’s been stuck in my mind forever because it was such a funny song, but I lost the tape that we did that night.  So I spent the weekend trying to re-record it.  You can download the 8MB mp3 file here. It’s a love song. You may need to right-click and save if your browser is brain dead.

Hi! I know a lot of you have asked me whether I had the rare French version of Physical Speed (Vitesse Physique). Well I am happy to announce that I found a copy. You can download it here (Right Click Save if you have left-click problems). It is not in the best shape, but not too bad considering what it has been through!

Hey! I’ve found some time and uploaded the next CD in Scott’s series. This is probably the best mix of the album that you will get. It has 2 bonus tracks, Physical Speed and Song of the Kite, the versions we released as singles before we had been signed by A&M. Thanks to Jasper for helping me get motivated! Greetings folks - again a long time since the last post.  I suppose I shouldn’t complain, as this must mean that my life is too interesting and there is no time to dwell in the memories.  I recently received communications from a fan in the Netherlands, and he sent me an insert circa 1980 that I don’t remember seeing before.  I probably have, and it is just Alzheimer’s setting in but I thought it would be good to post it here.

Thanks to Jasper Smit for providing this.  I promised Jasper that I would post the other CDs that Scott has put together, and I will remain true to my word.  I will start out with the Music Designer’s CD.  I’m back from a week long meeting with my Quality team.  We had our recent face to face meeting, which is a session where all the people in my group get together.  We are a diverse group, from Parsippany NJ, Buffalo  NY,  Dublin Ireland, Renningen Germany, Hyannis MA, and Needham MA., so with the current financial conditions, we do not get together often.  So this weekend is a respite for me, and I promise that I will use a portion of the time to prepare and post the new CD.

Also, I plan to re-record an old favorite, a song called ‘The Perfect One’ penned by Ttiim Roy of ‘Pus Sucking Reptiles from Outer Space’ fame.  Stay Tuned!  I think I remember most of the words and chords from that beer-soaked night long ago when the song was recorded in the Peabody MA studio.

It’s been a while since I had a chance to write anything here.  I wanted to let you know that Boston’s Greatest DJ, Carter Allan gave PL a nice plug and played Song of the Kite a couple of weeks ago.  I had mailed him the box set of PL stuff, and he played the song on his Ipod Pick of the Day.  He just emailed me about the WZLX home page, on which he had placed a pic of the album cover under Carter’s Picks, which links to a nice little review blurb.  (Thanks Carter!).  I don’t know how long it will be on the wzlx.com site, so I hypersnapped a pic and put it on the web site.  Check it out.  If you want call ‘zlx and request some of the other songs.

Well I finally found some time.  The Blue Jay sessions are now available.  http://baselines.com/music/bluejay/index.html .  I’ve scanned in the CD artwork that Scott put together.  These are Photoshop files, but if there is enough interest, I’ll put ‘em up as jpgs.

The sound quality here is quite good.  These versions sound better than the others I have uploaded in the past, which were copies of copies of copies!!
